WARM UP II

Conceptually and spiritually, this warm up is like ‘the eye of the storm’. The place where there is silence and calm when everything around is full of chaos. Life doesn’t always go according to plan, and in these moments of change and stress, this advanced warm up can be a source of empowerment, regularity and stability.

Physically, this warm up enters heavily the mobility and grounding of the legs. They are the darkest parts of our body and consequentially escape our attention during modern lifestyle.

Learning how to drop the weight to places we forget about, to move them and use them to our advantage - that is an essential skill in this course. More specifically, we will learn how to not rely on the bigger muscles of the legs and learn to create power from deeper parts and muscles, the ‘invisible workers’ of our structure. This will create the necessary coordination from grounding.

IS THIS FOR ME?

Anyone with a human body who is interested to deepen their study of movement and themselves. This warm up has been taught live to movers from 18 and up to 70 years old with great success. The results were always interesting and inspiring, from dancers who found that their ability to improvise has expanded, elders who benefitted from improved balance and connection with the floor, athletes who enjoyed the centering and improved focus and movement teachers who incorporated principles and ideas into their own work. Just like we say in our live work, 'the only prerequisite is interest'. If it's there this course is designed to be accessible and challenging at the same time. 

DO I NEED ANY EQUIPMENT?

The object and subject of this course is your body and mind. The work will need nothing more than attention, concentration, patience and a bit of floor space to move.
