FLOORWORK I
This Instructional centers on a fundamental principle: skill is a story of coordination. We will use the floor as our teacher, a unique environment where the reliance on vertical alignment disappears and the consequences of being off-balance are removed. Here, the floor's limitations invite us to explore weight shifts, momentum, and new relationships with ground and gravity. It becomes a space where power and speed are insignificant and coordination becomes the dominant quality.
The Floor is a tool for physical intelligence. In this instructional we provide a framework to leverage this tool, focusing on coordination to build a vocabulary in relationship with ground, gravity and space.
This Instructional offers a unique approach to movement, building a rich floor work vocabulary through three distinct phases: Foundational Steps, Complex Patterns, and Creative Sequencing.
Each phase introduces a specific movement "family" and principles of momentum, offering a clear framework that builds from simple steps to dynamic spirals and waves.
The result is a new, collaborative relationship with the ground and the ability to create a personal movement language.
