There are at least three important concepts to consider when expressing a 'physical experience'; Body, Time and Space. Those are given to all and are always accessible. Time and space, co-dependently cover the same reality. Time is movement, space is the container. Limitless container which accommodates endless movement. The 'less' in the previous line implies the lack of my ability to define and frame both the container and the movement. This lack is a generator of endless creativity.
What is time?
What is space?
I turn to my body,
and that is exactly where and when the dance happens.
We experience through the human body. When we give up 'beginnings' and 'endings' we can learn that any sensory experience can possibly reflect on all of our sensory experiences. If we return to those experiences, they can become metaphors, physical metaphors are essential to all creations. Metaphors are the tools to develop our skills and maintain the curious approach of a child.
How can we make something out of all of this?
In this course we will review this question and combine the 3 elements of body, space and time with 3 manners of practice: Emptiness, Craft and Art. They are different in their potential; They move between stillness, rhythm, openness and structure. Combined they are my proposition for creating and expressing 'poetics of motion'. A manifest of physical transformation that is a metaphor for each one's personal life.
