THE ISLAND - INTENSIVE 2
This intensive will be the second time we are opening the doors of 'THE ISLAND' for people who wish to study and practice with us.
THE ISLAND is a 180 square meters space with a special 100 square meters sprung wooden floor surrounded by nature.
It is located just on the outskirts of Barcelona, close-by to the neighborhood of La Floresta.
This place has been a dream and a vision of us for a long time. Being able to practice, experience and embody our movement and art within it, creates a powerful coherence. The first event was a great source of inspiration for everyone involved, and we are confident that in the next addition we will only go deeper and further.

We will dive into interconnected concepts that transcend different practices such as: Meditation, Improvisation, Dance, Partnering and Acrobatics. Using these to share with the participants the artistic questions that we research daily:
What are the underlying connections between solo movement to moving with another person?
What type of mind-set and perspective leads to both improvising more and also to create more authentic material and sequences?
What basics and fundamentals are worth returning to even after years of study and practice?

The intention of this intensive is to allow more time for in-depth learning, intensity and conversation about the content. Sharing 5 intense days in a space that is dedicated fully to the art and craft of movement.
In this edition, we will also host Ariadna Monfort as a special guest to lead two GAGA classes. Ariadna is a dancer, teacher, choreographer, Illan Lev practitioner and student of Psychology. She had a rich career as a professional dancer and performer in many countries including the Bathsheba Ensemble in 2007 where she encountered GAGA. Since then, she's been developing her own unique perspective and teaching it internationally.

additional spectrums such as those between soft and thick textures, delicacy and explosive
power. Participants awaken numb areas, increase their awareness of habits, and improve their efficiency of movement inside multilayered tasks, and they are encouraged to connect to pleasure inside moments of effort. "
